Evilsizor questions road commission’s clearing of roads

Florence Township Supervisor Gordon Evilsizor criticized the St. Joseph County Road Commission for what he called a questionable effort clearing roads in the southwest quadrant of the county last week.
During Tuesday’s county commission meeting, Evilsizor said the Feb. 24 storm left several inches of snowfall on the roads until it melted later in the week.
Evilsizor said he called a road commission official Saturday morning and asked about whether the road-clearing job would be finished. Evilsizor said he was told a full crew was not going to be summoned to “hit just some spots.”
Evilsizor is a frequent attendee at county commission meetings, as he has long been at odds with county officials over funding to improve what he calls the neglected condition of Constantine Road.
