Joyce Marie Pitone, age 82, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 14, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York; the daughter of the late John and Claudia (Desouza) Caldeira.
Joyce loved swimming in the ocean on Long Island and also loved swimming, fishing, and boating at her lake home in Michigan. Joyce also enjoyed all of her friends at the Health Trac and at the Senior Center where she played bridge.
Joyce is survived by her loving family; husband Anthony Pitone, of Three Rivers; three daughters, Linda Harvey, of Plano, TX., Susan (John) Baione, of Three Oaks, MI., and Diane Pitone, of Birmingham, MI.; two sons, Joseph (Lita), of Berrien Springs, MI., John (Mary Ann), of St. Joseph, MI., and by Linda Pitone, wife of Joyce’s son Francis, who preceded her in death in 2013. Joyce is also survived by her two sisters, Rita Romeo, and Elaine Smurra; two brothers Harold Caldeira (Joan), and Robert Caldiera. Joyce is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Caldeira and Anthony Caldeira, as well as her twin brother, Stanley Caldeira.
A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 645 S. Douglas Ave; Three Rivers, MI 49093 with Father Antony Rajesh as celebrant.
Interment of cremains will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7th, 2016 at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes available at the church or Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
