Three Rivers Middle School teachers and administrators were on full alert Wednesday, the day after a threat of violence was posted on a social media site.
Superintendent Jean Logan said middle school principal Nikki Nash was made aware Tuesday night of a social-media posting by a student who threatened to commit an act of violence Wednesday.
Logan said police were notified and conducted an investigation into the matter. Logan said based on the recommendation of Three Rivers Police Detective Mike Mohney, the district decided to hold classes Wednesday as the investigation continues.
Logan said parents always have the choice to pick up their students if they feel that would be best.
The student who allegedly made the threat has not yet been identified.
