Domestic and Sexual Abuse Service of St. Joseph County will host a Survivor Stomp 5k run and 1.4-mile walk events April 30.
According to event organizers, the run and walk are in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Participants will run and walk in support of survivors and in memory of those who have lost their lives to domestic and sexual abuse. The fundraiser is being promoted as an opportunity for families, businesses, social clubs and the community to support programs that provide life-changing opportunities and help break the cycle of violence in local schools, neighborhoods and homes.
DASAS is seeking business, individual and group sponsorships. Sponsor packets can be found on the agency’s website: dasasmi.org.
The run registration fee is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Registration will include a T-shirt and a survivor sticker to be worn during the event, which starts at 9 a.m. at Fred Russ Forest park in Decatur.
