Ruth Perry, 89

Ruth J. Perry, age 89, of Ionia, and formerly of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia.
Ruth was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Burr Oak, a daughter of the late John C. and Louise B. (Modert) Baumeister.
Ruth grew up in Burr Oak, graduating from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1943. She also had lived in Bronson and Colon, and moved to Ionia in 1957.
On May 22, 1946, she married Keith E. Perry in Burr Oak. He preceded her in death in June 1974.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ionia.
She is survived by her son, Wayne K. Perry of Ionia; two grandsons, Jason (Angela) Perry and Nicholas (Kelly) Perry of Ionia; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Maxine Baumeister of Burr Oak; a brother-in-law, Elmer Saddison of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Perry; a brother, George W. Baumeister; and a sister, Kathryn Saddison.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth J. Perry will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Kuhlmann officiating. Burial will follow at Burr Oak Township Cemetery in Burr Oak.
If desired, the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Ruth to Ionia St John’s Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
