Constantine School’s board of education has offered the district’s superintendent post to Steve Wilson.
District officials made their decision last week, as eight-year incumbent Chuck Frisbie, is retiring in June.
The 40-year-old Wilson has been employed by the 1,400-student district for 10 years, and currently serves as the assistant superintendent and principal at Riverside Elementary School.
The board hired Michigan Leadership Institute last month to conduct a search, which would have included candidates from outside the district.
Because an internal candidate has been chosen, a full search was not conducted and MLI agreed to amend its $6,800 fee.
Wilson last week took part in a 90-minute candidate interview before the board agreed to award him the position. Terms of his contract will be negotiated in coming weeks.
Frisbie’s current annual salary is about $110,000.
