The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday is expected to authorize a survey of the Plumb Lake property it plans to develop into a park in Burr Oak Township.
County administrator Pat Yoder during last week’s county commission executive committee meeting said a state requirement calls for the property to be surveyed, with relevant data recorded with the state.
Yoder explained that the survey satisfies a condition set by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality specific to property designated as a park.
Because it is a county facility, it must be surveyed, Yoder said.
The property is on the north side of Lafayette Road, between Big Hill and Plumb School roads.
Yoder mentioned a proposal from Mostrom Associates of Centreville to do a complete boundary survey of the 135-acre parcel for $5,000.
