I’m at that age when my list of goals isn’t all that large. I’ve done about as much damage as I can and have tried to live a life that my parents would be proud of. I still strive to be a better person than I was ten years ago, and I do that by surrounding myself with good people. Probably Dr. Wayne Dyer said it best by saying, “My goal is not to be better than anyone else, but to be better than I used to be.” I do this by trying not to make the same mistake twice. I also try to listen more to those individuals I admire.
I remember when Ronnie Cox starred in the television series APPLE’S WAY. I think it might have been one of the early Sunday evening shows. I also remember him from the movie DELIVERANCE, with Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, and Jon Voight. I can hear that banjo music now. Anyway, Ronnie Cox is coming to Three Rivers next Sunday, April 24, where he’ll perform at the Riviera Theater at 3 PM. Not only is he a very good actor, but he is also a songwriter, musician, author, and storyteller. A true man of many talents.
I’m amazed at how many performers have chosen the Riviera Theater as a venue, and I applaud the theater for continuing to seek out performers to come to Three Rivers and provide us with top-notch entertainment.
Tickets for Ronnie Cox are only $15 and can be purchased at the Riviera, 50 North Main Street, in the center of historic downtown Three Rivers. For more information, please contact the Riviera at 269-278-8068.
Is it just me, or are there others out there who feel that most teenagers have no idea what customer service involves? Perhaps they aren’t trained properly, or enough time was not given for the initial interview. Maybe I’m expecting too much, but I think that greeting a patron with a smile is not asking too much. I won’t even get into counting back change to the customer. After all, that’s what a computer is for. It just seems that there are a lot of depressed young people out there. I can’t help but feel that some of these problems stem from a lack of proper parenting. Everyone seems to be too busy.
Much like the love of bacon, it’s almost un-American not to like peanut butter. Peanut butter by itself is good, but add a slice of sweet onion, maybe a sliver of dill pickle, or just plain jam or jelly and you’ve got yourself one heck of a sandwich. Wash that down with a glass of cold milk and you’ve got a lunch that would make your mother proud.
Here are eight benefits of peanut butter, according to The Science of Eating.com.
Packed with protein…………….Aids digestion……….Offers amino acids
Reduces cholesterol…………….Helps prevent Type II Diabetes
Fights Heart Disease…………Rich in Potassium……..Helps aid sleep
See you Out and About!
