Wayne E. Decker, age 84, of Hastings, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
He retired as a superintendent at MDOT after 31 years of service. They spent winters at their home in Florida. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and loved Tiger baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Monafae; daughters Cindy (Bruce) Curtis of Hastings and Chris Decker of Haslett; a grandson, Rick (fiancee Juli LaRoche) of Mulliken; sisters Susan (Bill) Glass of Celina, Ohio, and Linda (Richard) Cubbernuss of Mendon; and brothers Alan Decker of Vicksburg and Bruce (Chris) Decker of Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and many aunts and uncles.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Schipper Funeral Home. There will be a one-hour visitation before the memorial service from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at South Colon Cemetery.
