Sheriff Brad Balk said results of an autopsy conducted on a body found Friday in the St. Joseph River confirmed it was the man who police had thought.
Balk said the body was Justin Berg, 45, who had been missing since May 9.
Members of the St. Joseph County Dive/Rescue team recovered the body in Three Rivers.
Berg was last seen walking from his home. Police said his cell phone was found May 12 under a bridge of the St. Joseph River in Three Rivers.
The county’s dive team searched the river, but found nothing associated with Berg.
The autopsy was conducted at Western Michigan University.
