Stan Outman, 89

Stanley L. Outman, age 89, of Leonidas, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born on the family farm in Leonidas on March 17, 1927 the son of Lloyd E. and Elda M. (Hagelgans) Outman and was lifetime resident of Leonidas. He attended the Leonidas Bible Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Stan lived his life to the fullest, working on the family farm and spending time with his family. He always enjoyed his time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stan was married to Betty Lou Wolf in Burr Oak on Oct. 2, 1999. She survives along with four children Alice (Ricardo) Munoz, Brenda (Joe) Bogucki, Kevin (Robert George) Woodman, and Brad (Meadow) Woodman; six grandchildren, Krystal (George) Crawford, Paulino (Emily) Hernandez, Angela (Andrew Ross) Hernandez, Alex Munoz, Skye and Hunter Woodman, five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Febi, and Cory Crawford, Emily Pridgeon, and Aryann Bogucki; brother, Lyle Outman; two sisters, Ardis Barnabee and Arlene Collins; sister in law, Carol Outman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold (Winona) Outman, Leon (Margaret) Outman, LeRoy (Maria) Outman, and Wayne Outman; sister, Doris (Ralph) Meyer; sister in law, Rosemary Outman; brothers in law, Richard Barnabee and John Collins; and by a granddaughter, Sara Bogucki.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Curtis Bennett and Shon Deal officiating. Burial will be in Leonidas Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to either, the John Outman Memorial Scholarship, or to the Leonidas Bible Church.
