Two candidates challenge county clerk and county treasurer

St. Joseph County voters in August will decide between two candidates for county clerk and county treasurer.
Incumbent clerk Lindsay Oswald, who was appointed to the post in July 2015, is seeking the four-year term. A Lockport Township resident, the 36-year-old Oswald is being challenged by Melissa Marsh, 30, of Fabius Township.
Judie Ratering, incumbent county treasurer, is vying for a second four-year term. A 57-year-old Park Township resident, Ratering is being contested by 54-year-old Gwen Donmyer, of Sturgis.
Sheriff Brad Balk, 63; prosecutor John McDonough, 36; drain commissioner Jeff Wenzel, 56; and surveyor David Mostrom, 55, are running unopposed. Their terms, too, are for four-year periods.
All county candidates are running under the Republican party.
