GOCC President receives high evaluation marks

Glen Oaks Community College President David Devier was the recipient of high marks from the school’s board of trustees during his evaluation this week.
The board evaluation included 48 questions covering six functional areas of performance. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being “significantly exceeds expectations,” Devier’s overall rating was 4.39, representing an increase over his 2015 evaluation.
The board voiced its approval of the many initiatives overseen by Devier, including increased enrollment, improved community engagement and service, new programming and increased partnerships with K-12 districts, and area business and industry.
Devier also was acknowledged for supporting the work of the Glen Oaks Foundation and planning for on-campus student housing.
Devier, who joined Glen Oaks in January 2014, was awarded a 2 and 1/4-percent increase in salary, which will be more than $157,000 effective July 1.
His contract was extended through June 2019.
