Larry Carter, 79

Larry Carter, born Aug. 21, 1936, Houston, Miss. Larry passed away in Redmond, Wash. on May 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. Larry graduated Three Rivers High School, Class of 1954. He played four years of basketball and baseball. His parents are Etoile Martin and George F. Carter, Sr. After high school, Larry worked a year at Armstrong Machine Works. He enrolled at Western Michigan University and graduated Cum Laude in 1960. He met Aileen Hamamoto at WMU. They were married in the Chapel at WMU July 9, 1960. Larry earned his law degree in 1963 from University of Michigan Law School. They moved to Salem, Ore. Larry worked two years for Oregon’s Supreme Court. Larry accepted a job with a law firm now known as K & L Gates in Seattle, Wash. He was a partner. His family grew with Julie Carter Crow (Carl), son Carl, daughter Tonayo; Valerie Carter Jensen (Greg), son Justin, daughters Katherine, Michaela, and Hailey. Larry loved to hike and climb mountains. He and Aileen traveled to China, Jerusalem, France, Germany, other countries. Larry is missed by his family, friends, relatives, classmates, his older brother George F. Carter, Jr. and family.
