Constantine Fire Chief Mike Haydon this week was named the community’s 2016 Citizen of the Year.
The announcement was made before Tuesday’s village council meeting.
Members of the fire department and Haydon’s family were on hand when he received the award, presented by Pat Stears, chairman of the Citizen of the Year committee.
Haydon has worked for the fire department since 1993 and has been the fire chief since December 2000. He is the president of the St. Joseph County Fire Chief Association and has been a full-time dispatcher for police, fire and EMS agencies.
