Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County is declaring the week of July 17 through 23 as “Habitat Week” in St. Joseph County.
The week will be highlighted by the dedication of three Habitat homes, one each in Sturgis, White Pigeon and Three Rivers.
As part of Habitat Week, personnel from almost every fire department in St. Joseph County will be manning street corners in towns all over the county from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday collecting money to help fund the building of additional Habitat homes.
Meanwhile, the Walmart super stores in Sturgis and Three Rivers will be hosting Habitat booths in their parking lots Saturday, as well.
The homes in Sturgis and White Pigeon are both new builds, built as part of the classwork for students enrolled in the St. Joseph County Career & Technical Education Consortium.
