Lee J. Yoder, age 57, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2016, at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Centreville.
He was born Aug. 15, 1958, in Sturgis, a son of the late Kay and Joyce (Zirjacks) Yoder.
Lee was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1980.
Growing up close to Augsburger tennis courts, you could count on seeing Lee at the courts watching tennis from early spring to late fall.
He is survived by two sisters, Joanne LeTourneau of Sturgis and Peggy Feagan of Gurnee, Ill.; a brother, Kip R. (Verla) Yoder of Constantine; a nephew, Gary (Michelle) LeTourneau of Quincy; two nieces, Christine LeTourneau of Sturgis and Kristin Hanold of New York; three great-nephews, Christopher McGee, Marco Carmona and Robert Barnhart; and a great-niece, Natalie Carmona.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
Graveside services celebrating the life of Lee Yoder will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, with the Rev. Bob Keim officiating.
