Mark “Uncle Sam” Fitch, 61, of Muskegon, passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born Oct. 22, 1954, in Three Rivers to Jerry Austin and Mildred Ann (Proctor) Fitch.
Mark was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, having never missed a Lions game in 50 years. He also loved running, fishing, going to the beach, and playing baseball in high school and later with his kids. His other love was to carve and whittle with wood, just like his father. Mark was also proud of his sons, and especially of his grandchildren.
He is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Justin Fitch and Samual (Kelly) Fitch, both of Three Rivers; three grandchildren, Riley, Victoria “Tori” and Keanna; his two sisters, Sharron (Howard) Meyer of Grand Haven and Denise Wildeman of Swartz Creek; and two nephews, Todd Kelly of Orlando, Fla. and Shad (Nicole) Kelly of Detroit. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Fitch, on July 22, 2000.
A memorial visitation for Mark will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 8, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven, and will continue at The Bil-Mar Restaurant. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
