White Pigeon Days begins

The three-day White Pigeon Days community festival begins this evening.
Joy Weber, president of the White Pigeon Community Association, said a few major changes are in store for the festival. Primarily, the parade route for tonight’s procession is different from the past because the parking lots at White Pigeon High School are under construction.
The work at the school also means the Saturday night fireworks display will instead take place at the village water tower, on the west end of town.
Other White Pigeon Days highlights today besides the parade include games and inflatables, a kids’ pedal-pull contest, live music at the library, a fire truck pull, a disc jockey, and a sausage and hot dog roast.
Saturday will feature the 1 Lt. Jonathan W. Edds fifth annual walk and run, a three-on-three basketball tournament, River Country Has Talent, the raffle drawing and the Tomahawk’s annual “Party on the Patio.”
Sunday’s community church service and picnic starts at 11 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
A complete list of events is available through the White Pigeon Community Association’s Facebook page.
