Ellen Broker, 94

Mrs. Ellen Naomi Broker, age 94, of Three Rivers, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on Dec. 10, 1921 in Vicksburg, MI., the daughter of the late Walter G. and Ruby C. (Springer) Fritz.
On December 24, 1940 Ellen married the love of her life Mr. Andrew C. Broker. She was employed by Continental Can Company for fifteen years. Ellen was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and honorary member of the Three Rivers C.A.R. Club and the St. Joseph County Horseman’s Association.
Mrs. Broker loved to crochet and was a very talented seamstress and embroiderer; she participated in many area craft shows. She also enjoyed her flowers, especially roses, and tending to her garden as well as word search puzzles, coloring books, and watching the Gaithers, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy on T.V.
Mrs. Broker was preceded in death by her husband, Andy in 2003, one son, Richard A. Broker and four brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two sons, Larry T. (Mary) Broker, of Three Rivers and Terry F. (Diane) Broker, of Sturgis, MI.; Nine grandchildren, Tammy (Robert) Hughes, Holly (Steve) Fryling, Lisa Broker, Torrie (Robert) Thompson, Loreene (John) Kemperman, Jay (Jennifer) Broker, Tabitha Ferrel, Kristina (Kevin) Charles, and Andrew (Katie) Broker; she is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Sturgis Evangelical Church, 28201 Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI. 49091 with Rev. Rodger Moyer officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
