Evelyn Brunner, 83

Evelyn Myrta Brunner, age 83, of Burr Oak, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 19, 2016, at Drews Place of Coldwater in Coldwater, Mich., with her family at her side.
She was born Nov. 29, 1932, in St. Petersburg, Fla., daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Calloway) Link.
Mrs. Brunner resided in Burr Oak since 1946 coming from Florida. She was a graduate of Burr Oak High School with the class of 1950.
On March 29, 1952, she married Dale Russell Brunner at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church in Burr Oak. He died April 25, 2008.
Evelyn retired from Ayres Insurance in Sturgis following over 20 years of dedicated employment. She also had been employed by the Murphy Oil Company in Sturgis for several years.
She was a member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering her time at the church’s fair booth. Evelyn was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Burr Oak Mother’s Club.
She enjoyed playing golf, riding horses, gardening and had traveled with her family to all 48 continental states and Canada and Mexico. Evelyn always found time to support her children and grandchildren at all their many activities. Evelyn had hobbies and involvements and interests but what she truly cherished was times she was surrounded by her family that she so dearly loved.
Evelyn had five children: Teresa, Lorri, Becky, Dan and Julie and is survived by three daughters: Teresa (Randy) English of Elkhart, Ind., Lorri Brunner of West Branch and Julie Brunner of Constantine; one son: Dan (Tammy) Brunner of Burr Oak; son-in-law: Jeff Ultz of Burr Oak; five grandchildren: Jesse (Crystal) Ultz of Novi, Tosha (Ben) Ultz-Harper of Grand Rapids, Michael English of Elkhart, Ind., Christina English of Elkhart, Ind., and Alisia Brunner of Constantine; five great-grandchildren: Korryn English, Abby Harper, Colton Harper, Grace Ultz and Lillian Ultz; half-brother: Warren (Carolyn) Link of Mendon and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter: Becky Ultz; two sisters: Dorothy Cossairt and Mary Lou Link; two brothers: Harry Link and David Link.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Evelyn M. Brunner will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church, 206 W. Main St., Burr Oak, MI 49030. The Rev. Rodger Moyer will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
