Organizers behind a recent fundraiser to help a Wisconsin man and his family have good news to share.
The seventh annual “Homes for our Troops” event Aug. 6 at the Jim and Peggy Fassett residence in Park Township raised $9,600, prompting the Fassett’s to issue a public appeal for additional funds in hopes of hitting the $10,000 mark.
The request was successful, as the Fassetts said $13,000 was raised for Russell Dennison, his wife and two kids. Dennison was injured as the result of an improvised-explosive device in the Middle East.
The money will go toward helping with expenses related to the construction of a handicap-accessible house for the Dennisons
More information about “Homes for our Troops” and Dennison specifically can be found online at: hfotusa.org/dennison.
