Jerry Fair, 68

Jerry D. Fair, age 68, of Marcellus, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1948, in Sturgis, a son of the late LeRoy and Beulah Marjorie (Draime) Fair.
Jerry resided in Marcellus since 1994, coming from White Pigeon, and his early life was lived in Sturgis.
Much of Jerry’s working life was spent as a supervisor in the folding carton industry. He also owned and operated a power wash business for several years and with his son installed automatic car washes.
He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Jones, where he was a past board member.
Jerry was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of corporal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved riding motorcycles.
He is survived by three sons, Mark Fair of Three Rivers, Eric (Jennifer) Fair of Marcellus and Clint Fair of Jones; four grandchildren, Bryan Fair, Kristina (James) Baker, David Stiles and Sabrina Fair; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Fair, Konnar Fair and Elijah Eckert; three sisters, Velma Raver of Ypsilanti, Dorothy (George R.) Morris of Howe, Ind., and Judy Baldwin of California; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Doris Garlets, Lois Fair, Edith Harker, Barbara Davis and Mary Lou Stetler; and three brothers, Robert Fair, Leo Fair and Paul Fair.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Jerry Fair will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Butch Reed of Faith Bible Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Tobey Cemetery in Burr Oak Township. Full military honors will be conferred by Capt. John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard.
