Next month’s Fall Color Tour will have a new attraction at its Meyer Broadway Park stop.
The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners this week approved a resolution for a one-day special license to allow the sale of beer during the annual event. County administrator Pat Yoder said Constantine Brewing Co. will have a space at the park – one of more than a dozen locations included in the one-day tour.
Sponsored by the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is Oct. 9.
Commissioners were required to act on the matter because the county’s parks department has a no-alcohol policy on its properties. Members of the St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation Board, however, waived their no-alcohol policy for this case only. The matter will now head to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for final approval.
A lengthy list of restrictions is in place to ensure the sale of alcohol adheres to state laws.
Commissioners also approved a vendor agreement with Three Rivers resident Mike King, who operates the Weenie King push-cart hot dog stand.
The agreement allows King to operate his stand at Meyer Broadway also during the Fall Color Tour.
