A suspect in an alleged domestic-violence incident in Cass County this week was apprehended thanks to the effort of a K-9 unit.
Sheriff Joe Underwood said deputies responded at 7:41 a.m. Monday to a residence in the 66000 block of Elbow Lake Street in Porter Township.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they were advised that the suspect, a 31-year-old man, left the residence on foot.
Cass County K-9 unit arrived at the location and K9 “Faust” tracked the suspect in the wooded area for approximately a half- mile. The man was located hiding in a ditch.
Faust joined the sheriff’s department in July.
