Grants approved for local programs

The White Pigeon Area Community Foundation – a geographic affiliate of the Sturgis Area Community Foundation – recently approved $6,500 in grant awards during its 2016 competitive grant program.
The Adele M. Gray Fund awarded a $4,000 grant to the White Pigeon Caring Families for community and program support. The Gray Fund also provided grant support to Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County for their White Pigeon Home Build Project with a $500 grant.
The Richard and Mary Magee Fund, along with the Fund for White Pigeon, provided $1,000 in grant support to the White Pigeon Downtown Revitalization Association to assist with the Tasty Nut Shop Restoration program.
The Fund for White Pigeon also awarded a grant supporting the 2016 Edds 5K walk/run as a sponsor.
