Sturgis police last week arrested a man whose blood-alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit.
According to a department media release, officers stopped a vehicle shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the area of West West and North Orange streets for having an expired plate.
The 41-year-old driver tried to exit and potentially flee from the vehicle but was immediately detained by officers. He was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.34 percent.
He was charged with operating while intoxicated and was also wanted on an undisclosed warrant from Kalamazoo County.
