A Three Rivers man considered a threat to the public was arrested early this morning following a standoff with police that started Thursday evening and lasted several hours.
According to the Three Rivers Police Department, officers learned that Jaden Miars was at a residence in the 800 block of Fourth Street. Miars had warrants for his arrest stemming from multiple weapons charges, according to police.
Miars refused an officer entry into the residence and the perimeter around the property was subsequently secured by authorities.
The St. Joseph County Special Response Team was called in and started attempts to negotiate with Miars at 1:30 a.m. Special Response Team members forced their way into the residence around 4 a.m. and found Miars hiding in a crawl space.
He was arrested without further incident.
