The Wolverine Conference regular season ended on a down note for the Three Rivers Wildcats. Due to injury and sickness the Cats could not field a full team and finished 9th at the jamboree hosted by Sturgis at Island Hills Golf Club. Here are the team scores:

Sturgis 183

Plainwell 200

Otsego 211

Dowagiac 215

Allegan 222

South Haven 223

Paw Paw 244

Vicksburg 259

Three Rivers DNC

“I thought we had a great chance to overtake Otsego for the third spot, but injuries and sickness kept us below full strength in the last three jamboree’s” says Coach Bob Bales. But the good news is that we had a large enough lead over 5th place to hold fourth going into the conference tournament.”

Katie Horn (Sturgis) and Maddie Tran (Plainwell) shared low round at 40. The Wildcats were lead by Erin Taylor with 47 (T5), followed by Heidi Hines 53 and Cara Smith 55. The rest of the Cats were out due to sickness or injury.

“I hope to be back at full strength by next week.” said Bales Noting that it would be more devastating to be short handed next week over this week.

Next action for the squad will be next Tuesday, right back at Island Hills for the Sturgis Invitational.
