Jack Steven Alderson, age 38, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Sturgis.
He was born Nov. 5, 1977, in Aurora, Ill., a son of James “Bob” and Diana (Nelson) Alderson.
Jack resided in Sturgis for the past five years, coming from Three Rivers, where he was a graduate of Three Rivers High School with the class of 1997.
On March 26, 2004. he married the love of his life. Kelly Hungerford. at the home of his parents in Three Rivers. with his father officiating the ceremony.
Jack enjoyed tinkering, reading and building models. He loved time spent hanging out with his many friends and family. Many will miss Jack’s storytelling and his exceptional cooking skills, especially his famous ribs.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Kelly; a daughter, Megan Phillips of Three Rivers; a son, Scott Stevens of Three Rivers; his parents, James “Bob” and Diana Alderson of Three Rivers; two brothers, James (Elizabeth) Alderson of Three Rivers and Joseph Alderson of Three Rivers; a sister, Jillian Alderson of Three Rivers; special cousins Alexandra, Brianna and Caitlin; and his mother-in-law, Betty Kern of Three Rivers.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Jack Steven Alderson will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Light and Life Wesleyan Church in Three Rivers. The Rev. Sam Maddox will officiate.
The Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
