Magician plans Houdini tribute

The 90-year anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death will be marked locally this weekend by Colon magician and entertainer Ron Carnell.
Carnell plans to lead a séance in an attempt to contact the spirit of Houdini. It will take place Saturday at River Lake Inn as a special presentation to complement Carnell’s monthly “dinner-and-a-show” event at the Colon-area restaurant.
Carnell said the evening will begin with a 45-minute comedy/magic show followed by dinner, then conclude with the main attraction. The show is aptly titled “A Tribute to Houdini.”
Carnell said Saturday’s event will be the second consecutive year he has conducted a Halloween séance at River Lake Inn.
The “Tribute to Houdini” program starts at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $29.99, which also includes dinner.
Reservations can be made through the restaurant by phoning 269-432-2626.
