Threatening post leads to teen’s arrest

A Schoolcraft teenager was arrested last weekend after he implied an act of violence would occur at a school.
Schoolcraft Police Department Chief Bryan Campbell said the department received a report around 5 p.m. Saturday from administrative staff with Schoolcraft Community Schools.
The School had been contacted about an Instagram posting that inferred violence was going to occur at a school, although no specific school system was identified.
Following an investigation, a 14-year-old was identified, arrested and transported to the Kalamazoo County Juvenile home.
The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review. The juvenile has been charged with using terrorist threats.
Campbell said the department believes the juvenile acted alone in placing the threatening post.
