A 36-year-old Three Rivers woman was arrested last week on a warrant, but additional charges were leveled after she physically attacked an officer.
According to a department media release, the woman was taken into custody Tuesday at the South Main Street Shell gas station on a warrant for fraud. Officers said the woman was wanted for passing counterfeit currency.
About 20 minutes into the booking process, the woman refused to cooperate any further and assaulted an officer after an attempt to handcuff her was being made. The woman allegedly punched the officer six times, according to authorities.
In addition to her warrant, she was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting an officer and failure to comply with booking.
