Bernice Clark, age 91, of Centreville, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Three Rivers Health. She was born in Three Rivers on May 27, 1925, a daughter of William and Bertha (Howard) Parker. Bernice attended Centreville Schools. On July 16, 1942, she married William Clark in Kalamazoo. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1987. Bernice worked at Denton Mills and Kirsch Company, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed the St. Joe County Pony Express campouts, bingo, going to the COA, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thank you to Betty Allen, Steve and Sandy Clark, Barb Parker, and Phillip Eckert for all of the help and care they gave to Bernice.
Surviving Bernice are her daughter Carolyn (Ted) Eckert of Burr Oak, 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Philip Shorty Clark daughter Joyce Allen; grandsons John Clark, Sr. and Corey Eckert; sister Lottie Parker, brother Tyde Parker, and sister Clarecy Parker all in infancy; sister Grace Knaak; and brothers Arlo Parker, Oscar Parker, Charles Parker, and Earl Parker.
Relatives and friends will be received Sunday 1:30-2:30 at New Beginnings Community Church in Sturgis, where religious services will follow at 2:30 with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. Interment will occur in Prairie River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Community Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes, Centreville.
