Clinton Carpenter, 35

Clinton Charles Carpenter, age 35, of Mendon, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at his home following a lifetime of physical challenges. He was born in Sturgis, on Sep. 29, 1982 the son of Dale S. and Sheri (True) Carpenter. Amidst his many surgeries he was tutored by the Pathfinder Center in the family home. Clinton loved trips to binder Park Zoo, watching movies, and reading books, especially his Action Bible, and Signing illustrations. He loved Furbys and other stuffed toys, and had a special shoe-string collection.

Clinton is survived by his parents, Sheri and Dale Carpenter of Mendon; a brother, Dale M. “Mick” Carpenter (Heather) of Three Rivers; two sisters, Marcie Lynne Snook (Colin) of Portage and Susanne Lee Shimer (Ron McGee-Sinclair) of Mendon; eight nieces and nephews, Abbilyn, Makenna, and Ryan Carpenter, Kirsten, Julia, and Parker Snook, and Addison and Emma Shimer; and his special friend and caregiver, Anita Olilla.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at the West Mendon United Methodist Church, 22994 Portage Lake Rd., Mendon, 49072. Memorial services will begin at 4 PM Wednesday at the church with Ray Doyle officiating. Memorials may be directed to either the Binder Park Zoo, 7400 Division Dr., Battle Creek, MI 49014, or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Bronson Methodist Hospital, 601 John Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
