Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department last week arrested a Three Rivers man on several charges after he attempted to flee from authorities.
A deputy working Wednesday for the village of Centreville attempted to stop a vehicle with a stolen plate. The suspect refused to stop his vehicle and drove through a number of parking lots, according to the sheriff’s department.
Eventually, he exited his vehicle and attempted to run from the scene. The deputy initiated a foot pursuit and was able to apprehend the subject after deploying a stun gun.
The 44-year-old suspect was wanted on several felony warrants and charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, possession of stolen property, driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle without insurance, according to deputies.
