fergesonPaul “Skip” Douglas Fergeson Jr., age 57, of Sturgis, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Monday evening, Nov. 14, 2016.
He was born Nov. 12, 1959, in Sturgis, a son of the late Paul D. and Patricia J. (Bridges) Fergeson Sr.
Skip had been a resident of the Sturgis area all of his life, except for a few years he lived in Colorado.
On June 22, 1984, he married Debora Ann (Sielken) Fergeson. After years of marriage and raising four children, the marriage later ended in divorce.
He had been employed as a machinist for over 20 years at Burr Oak Tool & Gauge.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving, kindhearted, gentle person who loved being with his family. His family and friends cherished him and will miss him very much.
Surviving are three daughters, Shena (Mike) Kimes, Gena (Andrew) Lytle, and Taya Fergeson all of Sturgis; a son, Garrett Fergeson of Springdale, Ark.; four grandchildren, Lane and Conner Kimes and Bryce and Brinleigh Lytle; a sister, Joyce (Gene) Yoder of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David Fergeson.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
Services celebrating the life of Paul “Skip” Fergeson Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Bibb of Radiant Life Church in Sturgis officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Paw Paw.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family to help with expenses, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
