Theodore E. Hilliard, 76, of Sturgis, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at Sturgis Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born March 5, 1940, in Three Rivers, a son of Eugene and Helen (Makowski) Hilliard. He was a resident of Sturgis for the past 2 1/2 years, coming from White Pigeon.
He was employed at Peterson Spring and Essex Wire, both in Three Rivers, as a machine operator and forklift driver. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, traveling and sports.
He was married to Marie D’Haese on July 6, 1970, in Centreville. She preceded hin in death on June 20, 2014.
Surviving are children Shirley (Bill) Betts of Sturgis, Gregory (Chrissy) Hilliard of White Pigeon, Sherrie (Dave) Morrill of Stevensville and Ted (Michelle) Hilliard of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Hilliard. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.
Relatives and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 11 a.m. Friday. Chaplain Glenn Russell of Thurston Woods Village will officiate. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
