Wava Chapman, 66

Wava Jane Chapman, 66, of Jones, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at her home. She was born June 25, 1950 in Mishawaka, a daughter of James and Gloria (Bang) Simpson. Wava attended country schools and Mendon Schools. She was employed at Crocker Limited in Three Rivers for 30 years retiring in 2009. Wava, along with her boyfriend Jerry Potter, operated Potters Scrap Yard in Jones.
Surviving are her children Darrin Sagar, Saranac, MI, Darla Mater, Nashville, MI, David Schlabach, TN, Dean Schlabach, Three Rivers, Marvin “Lee” Schlabach, Centreville, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, sisters, Leota Langs, Pleasantville, KY, Mildred Hitton, Three Rivers, Phyllis Jackson, Mendon, Brenda Martin, Three Rivers and Suzy Stauffer, Centreville. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Victoria Jane Chapman, sister Rosemary, brothers, Ira Simpson, Bill Simpson and longtime boyfriend Jerry Potter.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious services will be held 10 am Saturday with Pastor Randy Evans, New Beginnings Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers. Memorial contributions may be directed to New Beginnings Community Church.
