Albert O. Cappaert, age 99, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Heartland Health Care Center. Albert was born on November 17, 1917 in Briarbluff, IL. the son of the late Henry P. and Eliza (VanZande) Cappaert.
Albert has been a long time resident of Three Rivers. On Dec. 31, 1939 he married the love of his life Mrs. Martha Jean Cappaert, who preceeded him in death on Aug. 8th, 1998. Albert owned and operated the Windmill Restaurant for many years. Albert also dabbled in real estate and worked for C & N. Motors.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, one niece Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Mullins, of Schoolcraft, MI., and nephew, Henry “Bud” Roodbergen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and very special friends, Richard and Inge Bonfoey.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16th, 2016 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Deacon Bart Connelly officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be donated to the St. Joseph Animal Rescue Fund (A.R.F.) Envelopes available at the Hohner Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
I worked for Jeanne and Al at the Windmill for many years. Have many
fond memories of them. Super nice people.
