Author visits White Pigeon library

A celebrity in the world of literature shared stories of happiness, comedy and sadness during an appearance Saturday at White Pigeon Township Library.
More than 70 people were on hand to meet Elizabeth Berg, whose most-recent book, “Make Someone Happy,” was the main focus of her presentation. Berg started the event by reading an excerpt from her highly regarded, “The Handyman and The Carpenter,” and followed by sharing half a dozen passages from her latest novel.
She then fielded a number of questions from the audience that included a mother and daughter who traveled five hours from Cheboygan County for the event.
In response to audience questions, Berg said she follows a routine when she writes. The routine, she said, starts with not putting pressure on herself, and not writing and editing at the same time.
More about Berg can be found online at:  elizabeth-berg.net.
