Clare A. Mock, age 86, of Burr Oak, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at his home, after a year of failing health.
Clare was born Nov. 20, 1930, on the family farm, a son of the late J. Homer and Clara F. (Leverence) Mock.
He had lived all his life in rural Burr Oak, graduating from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1944. He was a local dairy farmer, milking mostly jersey cows.
In his younger years, he had been active in the Burr Oak 4-H program and had been a leader for several years.
He is survived by a sister, Maxine M. Mock, and a brother, Earl J. Mock, both of Burr Oak.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Clare A. Mock will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Burr Oak Township Cemetery.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Clare to either American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
