Elna Schug, 91

Elna M. Schug, age 91, of Marcellus, passed away at home, Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
She was born August 11, 1925 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Donald M and Matie B. (Smith) Lucas. On May 31, 1947, at Elna’s parents home on Long Lake, Three Rivers, she married Richard L. Schug who survives.
Elna graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1943. She worked for the Marcellus News for 60 years and she enjoyed cooking, especially making pies. She always had chickens and sold eggs and loved dogs. She was an active member of the Edwards Corner Bible Church and was treasurer for many years. Elna and Richard enjoyed traveling by bus, having been to Alaska a few times, Mexico and many other places across the United States.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Cripps and Deborah Schug; one son, Timothy (Laura) Schug who took such wonderful care of Elna; Granddaughters, Tammy Jo (Don) Curtis and Jamie Leigh (Jayson) Cardella; Great-Grandchildren, Jarett Donald Curtis, Lea Maxine Cardella, Addison Jo Curtis, Layna Beth Cardella and Larson Scott Paul Cardella; one brother, Duane (Betty) Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Willard Lucas and sisters, Mary VanHorn-Gephardt, Katheryn Terrill and Donna Pashby-Truckenmiller.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Edwards Corner Bible Church. Memorial services will be held immediately following at 11 AM. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice or Edwards Corner Bible Church Building Fund.
