Janet Hite, 71

hiteJanet Marie Hite, 71, of White Pigeon, died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at her home.
She was born Feb. 14, 1945, in Elkhart County, Ind., the daughter of Mervin and Ruth (Andrews) Schieber.
She was employed as a supervisor for Ventline in Bristol, Ind., for 40 years and retired in 2009. She was employed part time at America’s Best Value Inn in Three Rivers.
She attended the Mottville Community Church, enjoyed shopping, driving, storytelling and mostly, her grandchildren.
On Dec. 18, 1965, she married Terry Hite in Scott, Ind. They were later divorced.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie J. (Boe) Pfenning; three grandchildren, Ashley, Dakota and Dayton Pfenning; two sisters, Cheryl Hall and Linda Anglemyer; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Schieber; sisters, Mary Hostetler, Mildred Jones, Joanna Heckman, Donna Weinberg and Patricia Heckman.
A celebration of her life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Chicago Street Ritz in White Pigeon.
Donations may be directed to the American Red Cross. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon.
