Dual enrollment and Career Technical Education classes at Glen Oaks Community College are having an impact on the number of high school seniors enrolling in post-secondary education.
Glen Oaks Board of Trustees last month learned that within the past four academic years, 1,007 St. Joseph County high school seniors have attended Glen Oaks as a dual enrollment or CTE student.
Of those, 77 percent enrolled in college within one year of graduation and just under 80 percent enrolled in college since graduation.
The presentation was led by Glen Oaks president David Devier (rhymes with “severe”) and Tammy Russell.
Devier called the statistic “phenomenal.”
