Kathryn A. Sadewasser, age 80, of Centreville, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Sturgis Hospital. She was born on December 31, 1936 in LaMonte, MO, a daughter of Kenneth and Clara (Hughes) Vickrey. She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1954. On July 7, 1957, she married Richard Sadewasser in Three Rivers. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1999. Kathryn retired from Walter’s Dimmick (Rangler’s Grocery) after 25+ years of service. She additionally worked for the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department and at the Zephyr Marathon Bulk Plant. She enjoyed ceramics, cooking, reading, collecting cookbooks, being with her family, and loved her community.
Surviving are her children Laurie (Steve) Lunger, Quincy, Karen Vickrey, Constantine, Debra (Dwayne) Sharaf, Allen Park, Jennifer Meyer, Centreville, and David Sadewasser, Centreville; grandchildren Eric (Kelsey), Marc (April), Zach, Miguel, Andrew, Manny, Hassan, Hussein, Alex, Kipp, John, and Katy; great grandchildren Raelyn, and Aries; brother Bob Vickrey, Sweet Springs, MO; sister-in-law Helen Jean Avery, Colon; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Darrell, Wade, Keven, and Jim, and sisters Jackie, Betty, Evelyn, and Mary.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside memorial services will be on Monday, May 1st at 11:00 am at Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville, with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (Michigan Great Lakes Chapter) or to the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes, Centreville.
