Lorraine N. Rench of Union City died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 in Coldwater just nine days before her 94th birthday. She was born in Mendon on March 2, 1923 the daughter of Ervin and Sarah Katherine (Moore) Hoover. She was married to Homer J. Rench on Nov. 9, 1940 in Bryan, Ohio. She had been employed at Rich Manufacturing in Battle Creek for 20 years and at Bundy Tubing in Coldwater for 15 years. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the Antique Car Club.
Lorraine is survived by a son, David (Diane) Rench of Union City; four grandchildren, David L. Rench, Jr. of Union City, Dennis (Andrea) Rench of Athens, Michael Marvin of Carson City, MI, and Carrie Wedel of Lake Leanne, MI; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin Hoover in 1983; her mother, Katherine Batten in 1993; her husband, Homer in 2002; her daughter, Bonnie Jean Bowen in 1999; and her half-sister, Marilyn Hippen in 2002.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev.
