State Rep. Aaron Miller, following his first meeting as chair of the House Elections and Ethics Committee, said he’s looking forward to working on policy over the next two years that brings even more integrity and efficiency to Michigan’s election system.
Miller said elections play a critically important role in ensuring government is chosen by the people, and we should continually be looking at ways to improve the security and efficiency of the process.
Miller said it is an honor and a privilege to chair the key committee, and he is looking forward to setting priorities, working on legislation and making tough decisions that lead to positive changes for elections in Michigan.
The first Elections and Ethics Committee meeting of the 2017-18 legislative session included a presentation by Chris Thomas, director of the Bureau of Elections, who gave an overview of the bureau’s functions.
