A storage garage and motorhomes were destroyed by fire late last week at a facility in Schoolcraft Township.
According to Tracy McMillan, chief of the South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority, the department was called at 10 p.m. Thursday to the 15000 block of U.S. 131, where a fire was reported at Cloverleaf RV & Storage Acres.
McMillan said heavy smoke was bellowing from the service area of the building when crews arrived. Despite the intensity of the blaze, fire fighters were able to keep the blaze from the company’s business office, McMillan said.
However, two motor homes, a fifth-wheel trailer, parts and tools were claimed by the fire.
Fire investigators from Michigan State Police returned to the scene Friday and will attempt to establish the cause of the blaze.
