Alice Teeters, 92

TeetersAlice Cecile Teeters passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at age 92 at Friendship Village of Kalamazoo. She was born on August 14, 1924, the daughter of the late William R. and Tillie C. (Stuckley) Meutsch.

Alice earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Gainesville. She went on to become a Registered Nurse where she was employed in Coldwater and State of Michigan Mental Health. She was also a member of the Lutheran Church of the Savior (ELCA) and sang with their choir. Alice also enjoyed volunteering her time as a tutor for the St. Joseph County Literacy Council.
She loved gardening, bird watching, music, travel, the woods, and her cats. Alice was a trustworthy aunt who said a funeral should “be the celebration of a life lived under the sign of the cross, and an expression of thanksgiving to God for his gift of the Resurrection through Christ.” .

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, some of whom are: Alice Cimino Naegele, Marie Bonnin, and Billy and Bobby Newell.

In accordance with Alice’s wishes cremation will be conducted and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Kiva Auditorium at Friendship Village of Kalamazoo, 1400 N. Drake Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49006. Holy Communion will be provided by the Lutheran Church of the Savior.
